Day Three with Kiko

Jordan Lake! It was a beautiful day. We played in the sand. We floated and kicked on boogie boards. We ate a picnic lunch. We had such a nice time that we may go back Tuesday. 

Day Two with Kiko

We did "paint your own pottery" like we did last year with Kako. 

Daniel made a puppet show. 

Mary Katherine taught Kiko how to make one of our favorite desserts- dates and cream cheese with cinnamon. 

For dinner-noodles and sauce, corn on the cob, hot dogs, spinach, carrots, apples, pistachios, rice, and dates with cream cheese and cinnamon.

I have been trying to grow corn for five years. These ears were overripe, but there are others on the way. Watching carefully for just the right time. 

Last Day in Mountains

Foscoe View Trail

This is the steepest hike we've done. On the way up, Joseph and I were huffing and puffing and sweating as though we were running (we were not). D and MKC were running and singing the whole way up and never winded. We saw four mountain ranges from the top, two in Virginia. We started this trail near our "cabin," so it was fun to do a trail without driving. We saw lots of fairy mushrooms and big rocks. About an hour and a half total.
