Daniel's first day of Transitional Kindergarten at Trinity School
Daniel is in Mrs. Holland and Mrs. Kelley's class. He is a TK Cub! There are 13 friends in his class. He sits at a table with Elle, Sadie, and Lincoln. He had a super first day of school. He has been practicing getting ready for a couple of weeks. This morning he made his own breakfast (hot dog, banana, blueberries, carrots), packed his snack (almonds and banana), got out his clothes (the shirt and pants that Ezra and Buxton gave him for his birthday to be worn to school), got dressed, brushed and flossed his teeth, and brushed his hair all by himself. We are so excited about all the things he can do right now. His first field trip is in about a month to the Botanical Gardens.

Treamwork
Mary Katherine's language has exploded in the past few weeks. I wrote many, many blog entries about Daniel's language development. Poor Mary Ka. Oh well. I want to list a few of the things she says these days. I feel like I will never forget these cute expressions, but of course, I will.
1 "treamwork"- (teamwork) When she doesn't want to clean something up by herself, she says, "Let's do treamwork, Mama."
2 "Me how know." She LOVES to call Rita and Angie using my phone. She knows how to do most of it by herself, but I still need to help with two parts. She will say, "Me call Angie, Mama....Me how know! Me how! Me how!"
3 "I'm fine." Sometimes when we ask her if she wants something, she will answer with "No, I'm fine."
4 "To school one day" I think this expressions comes from two places. 1- she begged to go to school with Daniel. I let her go three times, and she LOVED it. 2- she likes the rhyme Mary Had a Little Lamb. Joseph sings it as "Mary Katherine has a little lamb." I think she remembered that line "it followed her to school one day.." Anyway, she says over and over "Me go to school one day, and Baba say....oh boy!"
5 "Muffin Man" Her favorite song right now is "Do you know the Muffin Man?" She can sing almost all the words now, but she started out singing, "AAAHHHHHH the Muffin Man..........AAAAAAHHHHHHH the Muffin Man."
6 "Mugits" She says "mugits" for "music." When she is really upset in the van, she yells, "I want MUGITS please!"
7 "sunglackes" Just like Daniel, her eyes are really sensitive to sunlight, so she often wears her "sunglackes." She usually prefers to wear them upside down. It's sweet.

Me-turn
This is Joseph. I was driving with Mary Katherine and Daniel in the van. Like every normal day, music was playing, people were talking, and I was finding it hard to think. As such, I missed my exit and needed to turn around. I pulled up to a traffic light. Daniel said, "Are you going to do a U-turn, dada?" Mary Katherine, who always takes turns picking music with Daniel, heard this and immediately yelled out, "Me turn! Me turn, dada!"

Mary Ka's language
Mkc just walked into the kitchen and said, "Pix kinkle kinkle!!" She
was holding the foam star from her nursery rhyme book. I said, "Do you
want me to fix Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?" She said, "MHmm!" (her
yes sound). Then she said, "Me put kinkle kinkle nananana work." Which
I think means "I tried to fix twinkle twinkle but it didn't work.
She is trying to say everything in the world!!!

December 2012 bedtime conversation between Daniel and Joseph
D: Did you ever get coal in your stocking?
J: No, I was a pretty good boy.
D: But did you drink a drink of that man's coke?
J: Well, I asked him for the whole thing.
D: And did he give it to you?
J: Well, remember what he said- "Son, you can just have the whole thing."
D: Did he die?
J:I don't know, I just wanted a drink of his coke. I didn't even ask his name.
D: Why didn't you ask his name?
J: Just go to sleep....
Shannon Fulton photographs
When we were in Camden at Christmas, we got our picture made with a local photographer, Shannon Fulton. We had so much fun, and the pictures turned out great. The best part for Daniel was getting his picture made with Angie and her dog, Yoda.
