Halloween 2015

MKC found a recipe in a kids' cookbook for Ladybug Cookies, so we made those this morning with GG and Granddaddy and delivered them to the Wynwood Friends.

In the afternoon we carved our pumpkins. Mine turned out to be a squash, so it was completely solid on the inside. Took some hacking to be able to put a face on one side, but it eventually worked.
For dinner we had Halloween tacos- rice as white as ghosts, beans as black as night, carrots as orange as jack-o-lanterns.

Our friend, Baby M came with us for her first Halloween.

From left to right- bumblebee, butterfly, Mother Teresa, guy in a shower, fried egg, vampire, cowgirl, ballerina.
Daniel, seven years old, vampire
MKC, four, ballerina and (earlier in the day) Little Red Riding Hood

High Five Cooking

Mary Katherine and I have been cooking a lot the past few days we decided to start a restaurant. It's called High Five Cooking. Everyone is invited. We have our own sign and menu. So far, everything has been delicious. The last thing we made was roasted chickpeas. They were SUCH a hit! Daniel finished all we made and asked for more. MKC checked out a "Pink Princess Tea Party" cookbook from the library. We may make ladybug cookies on Halloween. Below are the chickpeas.

Mama-MKC date to see Coppelia

This ballet was performed by Triangle Youth Ballet. One of GG's physical therapists, Emily, and her husband were also in it. Emily was Coppelia, and her husband was Franz. We knew they were dancers, but we had not seen them in a ballet before. We did not know they were going to be in this one. It was a big surprise! We had a wonderful time. As we were driving home, MKC said, "This was so fun. When we are alone, we can just remember it and remember it."
