North Carolina Adventure

We made it to North Carolina! We thought it would take two days, but we did it in one day, thanks to a lightning quick (eight minute) condo closing and our SuperBaby Daniel. The closing took no time since we only had to sign a few papers. The buyers closed at another place (we didn’t know that could happen). So we were on the road by 9:30 Friday morning (Sept 12). We took a few bathroom breaks and ate our meals in the car, and we were over the mountain in no time and scooting on to Durham. Daniel was an angel right up until we were about 7 minutes away from the house. He made it in the car seat from 7:15 am (when we left Centerville) until about 9:30 pm Eastern time. He was great! We think he may be teething now because he is drooling fountains and gnawing on anything that gets close to his mouth.

We went to church today at the Summit church. Our neighbors across the street invited us. It was very, very contemporary and GIGANTIC, but we enjoyed it a lot. The music was great and the preacher seemed really in touch (not as good as Jon, though, by a long shot). Daniel was great through the whole service, with only one piercing shriek of happiness right at the end.

Now Joseph and Daniel are taking a nap. Our neighbor Cora came by with some banana nut muffins, and she and I chatted for awhile. Carpet Man Bob is coming between 3:15 and 4:15 to show us some samples. I’m lying on the family room floor right now. Daniel is sleeping beside me.

The pictures are from yesterday. Can you see the string of drool? I think it is permanent!

Glad you made it to NC! Way to go, amazing Daniel! Glad you are a good traveler, since your Mommy and Daddy love to travel so much! (Up for a long trip to Asia by any chance?)
Glad you went to the Summit! We have very personal connections there, and although no where is perfect, they are very outreach-oriented both locally and abroad.
Miss you!
